Professional Biography:

George Denny is a Professor in Educational Statistics and Research Methods and has been at the University of Arkansas since 1991. He earned his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Michigan State University with a major in Measurement and Evaluation and minors in Learning and in Research Design. He also has a M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Mathematics from Michigan State University, and he taught six years for the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Wichita State University. He is a member of the American Educational Research Association and the National Council for Measurement in Education.

Denny regularly teaches eight classes a year in statistics and research methods, and most of his classes fill up. He serves on more than 25 dissertation and thesis committees, and he won the departmental advising award in 2002 and 2004. He has served as evaluator on three funded research projects, authored or co-authored more than 30 journal articles and made more than 30 presentations at professional meetings. He is a member of the University’s Campus Council and Faculty Senate, and the College’s Faculty Council.

Personal Information:

Denny loves being with his wife Heather and five children Dorothy, Fred, Elly, Alex, and Charles. He enjoys playing racquetball and strategy games, including bridge. He appreciates opportunities to travel, including short term teaching opportunities he did in China and Bolivia. He is active in his church, Christian Fellowship of Northwest Arkansas.
